Why it works
The physiological theory behind a PEAK Training Session is known as “Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption,” or EPOC. By providing customers with a heart-rate monitor, we can track their interval training sessions using the latest technology. Real time heart rate, percentage of maximum heart rate and total calories burned will be displayed on TVs at the interval training studio. During the PEAK Training Session, clients will perform multiple intervals designed to produce 12 to 20 minutes of training at 84% or higher of your maximum heart rate. This program design produces workout “Afterburn Effect", which is an increased metabolic rate for 24 to 36 hours after the workout. When combing the amazing workout with EPOC, our clients burn an average of 500 to 1000 calories.
How PEAK will benefit you
At PEAK, we use kettlebells, dumbbells, wreckbags, treadmills, water rowers, and other equipment to incorporate an intense workout of both strength & conditioning. These exercises combined with short bouts of rest, is why we call it Interval Training. Our workouts change daily and are formulated to ensure a balanced training routine, so for every PEAK session you attend, you know you are getting a complete, full-body workout! We provide every member a heart rate monitor to track his or her heart rate during class. Real-time biofeedback is important to make sure you get the results you need! Members are able to track their heart rate throughout the training session and will receive a summary of their statistics via email after each class. These summary statistics include average heart rate, max heart rate and total calories burned!
